We hold a variety of competitions throughout the year.

Shows

We hold our Annual Open Show at the start of every summer. Our open show had a variety of showing classes for both horses and ponies including, Ridden and Inhand Condition and Turnout, Ridden Height/type classes, Riding Club Horse class, Working Hunter Classes, as well as showjumping for both juniors (lead rein to 3'3")and seniors (1'6" to 3'6"). We have introduced more InHand Classes and a Handy pony class too, so there was something for everybody!

Area 22

Caithness Riding Club is affiliated with British Riding Clubs in Area 22. We often have teams competing in the Horse Trials for Senior and Junior members. Any members interested in representing Caithness in the Area 22 Horse Trials, or in Dressage or Showjumping please let us know.

Saddle Up International Scottish Riding Club Championships

The Riding Club now have entry forms and details of the Saddle Up Scottish Championships, 30th Sept/1st Oct at Auchlishie, Kirriemuir, Angus. If any member would like to compete in Dressage, Showjumping and/or eventing, please contact Debbie Wilson. The club will make a contribution towards members' entries - once we know how many people are interested in competing, we can decide on what contribution we can make, please contact Debbie by 23rd July to intimate interest

These Championships do not require any qualifying process and there are both senior and junior classes. There are individual, pairs and team competitions for dressage from Prelim to Medium level, individual and team showjumping from 70cm to 1m and team and individual horse trials from 80cm to 1m.
